Our Story

Mario „thegreenhornet“ Obermann, Director

I’m Mario Obermann, a passionate cannabis advocate, entrepreneur, and industry pioneer. Originally from Austria, I’ve spent over 20 years in Spain shaping the cannabis movement and was one of the country’s most influential activists. As the founder of Spain’s largest cannabis club, I helped establish a model that set the stage for legalization efforts across Europe.

Known in the industry as „The Green Hornet,“ my journey started in Amsterdam in 2005, during the first THC boom. Over the years, I’ve founded multiple cannabis clubs, including Escala Cannabis Club in Barcelona and Oasis 4:20 in the Canary Islands—Europe’s largest club at 3,500m². While cannabis clubs in Spain are legal, cultivation and transport remain restricted, leading me to expand my focus internationally.

In 2018, I co-founded The Green Hornet pharmaceutical company in Portugal, specializing in CBD creams, oils, flowers, and THC clones for the German market. Our brand quickly became a leader in Austria, ranking #1 in Bavaria, Germany, and gaining recognition across Spain, Switzerland, and beyond.

During Thailand’s THC legalization boom, I helped launch one of the first licensed cannabis clubs in Surat Thani and expanded The Green Hornet brand there. Today, we supply THC clones and seeds to Germany and continue to drive innovation in the cannabis industry.

With a background in Oaksterdam University, California, I am now focused on launching a cannabis lounge in Los Angeles, taking advantage of new laws favoring this emerging business.

Our journey began back in 2013 with a cannabis club near Camp Nou in Barcelona. Edo H., Chairholder and co-founder of The Green Hornet, leads our mother plant and cutting operations with passion and precision.

After selling the club in 2018, we launched our brand in Portugal with full Pharma licensing. Edo successfully led our indoor CBD and CBG production, taking our product line to #1 in Bavaria and top 3 in Austria. His influence extends across DACH, Macedonia, Slovenia, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. With Lyotek, a leading Catalan pharma company, he launched our oil and cream production.
